FreeTON: Dreams, Goals and Hopes of the People about Free Internet

John Perry Barlow’s dream of an autonomous internet is Free TON’s vision as well. Here, all agents have an audience. Barlow, an internet philosopher, envisioned a techno-utopia where anyone can enter clear of prejudice or privilege. His famous Declaration of the Independence of Cyberspace in 1996 called industry and governments, giants of steel and flesh. He asked them to make room for cyberspace liberty. Back then, the internet could have grown into a self-governing netizen utopia.

Unfortunately, data became the new oil. Today, humanity’s internet liberties are not only at the mercy of governments but corporate legal entities. This handful of internet businesses are now collectively worth more than some world powers. They do offer convenience, but if it is free, we are the product.

Centralization: The death of social movements

It costs 10 cents a day to spy on every internet user in the world. These corporations have taken away user privacy through agreements that allow for the sharing of personal data. They are open to governments and advertisers. Through the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, the government can forcefully access private data within third-party databases as Snowden leaks have revealed. Also, people in the Internet often voluntarily enter their data themselves. Sometimes, using free programs downloaded from the network, they allow intruders to get into their computer, even not realizing it. Having charge of your own data safe is not only trust-building but also freedomenhancing.

New decentralized internet can prevent the oncoming dystopian reality built on data control. The centralized internet is not only a single point of failure. Corporations can have leverage money and influence for data manipulating and censoring. Intermediation of information through algorithms, bots, or interfaces can only exist through the centralization. It’s a vice that chokes innovation, competition, privacy, and trust. These institutions will optimize their services and increase their market share.

Once, human population will receive forced information built by algorithm. It is a future devoid of encounters with friends and live communication. It is the death of social movements. Eventually, virtual, augmented reality and smart assistants will completely entrench the vices of centralization.

Internet needs its own currency. Blockchain will design the future — a world where content exists forever. Whole point of FreeTON is to create a trusted system in a non-trusted environment like the Internet. People need to understand how to use and receive their tickets to FreeTON. Question is how to make cryptocurrency available for everyone.

For most people, the term “blockchain”, also like the “free internet”, is a kind of phenomenon. However, the FreeTON community is rapidly developing and already numbers at least several thousand people who have signed the declaration on decentralization. FreeTON Blockchain was released by an autonomous group of developers, validators, and users on May 7, 2020 after TON Labs has open-sourced significant parts of TON blockchain’s working framework, TON OS on GitHub.

The ultimate goal comes down to free communication and transactions between people without censorship and supervision. The anonymous and uncensored world can produces a huge amount of smart, funny and offensive content.

Announcing the end of TON, Pavel Durov said “it is impossible to bring balance to an overly centralized world”. The FreeTON community admits this problem. It is time to build nextgeneration of internet with FreeTON. A new world where personal data is sacred.

Nowadays billions of people are active Internet users. A new era of free internet has become, where trust and privacy are the building blocks of comfort and security. FreeTON is home of each developers, blockchain enthusiasts, and internet citizens, who knows, no one coming to rescue them. We are the people and collectively we have the power for changes.

FreeTON’s decentralized world will reward ethical actors. Central authorities gaining profit from free data will be redundant because of consensus mechanisms. Free TON’s sharding protocol is massively decentralized and highly scalable.

In the lack of layered solutions that cut down on decentralization, FreeTON is building autonomous internet with distributed governance leading by community. Using contests, to onboard and reward active members to operate community-appointed tasks. Most blockchains has a meritocractic give and take system through token rewards. On the other hand, the distribution of FreeTON is based on competitions and offers and is subject to the vote of the community members. To ensure this FreeTON has a Soft Majority Vote (SMV) system.

Where others have failed, Free TON is going to succeed, through organic development of the ecosystem. It is a safe, speedy and scalable blockchain that can manage millions of transactions per second. A fully decentralized architecture will add more value to its interconnected users, via its compostability for applications model. The decentralized nature is essential for developers creating DApps. The key role of Dapps creation is to enable developers to build wide-ranging applications and run them supported by its cryptocurrency token named as FreeTON crystal. Free TON is connecting users and service providers in a very friendly environment to help each other grow.

Afterwards

FreeTON is secure, elastic, simple and fast. Achieving decentralization is it’s main goal. Active community development can help the network to reach high level of decentralization and security. It makes FreeTON attractive and give solid advantages over other blockchains. FreeTON opens the door to digital and virtual world, where everyone can participate in creating the decentralized future. Welcome!
